WARNING: THESE ARE MY OPINIONS AND MY OPINIONS ONLY. SORRY IF THEY GO AGAINST ANYONE'S OPINIONS.

The 2012 nick version seems to be shipping this Leo and Karai pairing which I couldn't believe at first. Many fans support the idea of them being in a romantic relationship, and I can see why. I've watched the 2003 series a while back and I know about Leo and Karai's unusual relationship. I was hoping that they would eventually become allies or friends. But NEVER could I ever imagined them being a romantic couple. The episode, "New Girl in Town" completely baffled me. Now....if you support this pairing....okay. Nick seems to support it too. This is my opinion. And you have the right to your opinion too. There's nothing wrong supporting it, just like there's nothing wrong with me not supporting it. These are my opinions like I've said before.

Ummmmm...yeah these reasons are actually ones that have probably NEVER crossed your mind. I overthink things. Leo and Karai supporters are most likely going to look at their relationship much differently after reading this. Just a little heads up.

Why Leo and Karai can't be a Couple

1. They're in two different species. Karai is a human and Leo is a mutant turtle. While Leo might be part human, he's still part turtle. If him and Karai get into a romantic relationship, it'll probably be bestiality. And some people think turtlecest is bad. At least with turtlecest the romantic relationship is within their own species. Just imagine you being the human you are getting into a romantic relationship with a mutant turtle who is physically very very different from you. It's be very awkward. And imagine the children. *shivers*

2. Karai is evil and is Shredder's daughter supposedly. And Leo hates Shredder and would kill Shredder if he had to (which he'll probably have to). So basically, he'd kill Karai's father. And Karai and Leo are enemies. You don't fall in love with your enemy without facing the terrible consequences. Don't bring up this Romeo and Juliet story. Because I thought Romeo and Juliet were idiots in the story and were completely irrational. They barely met and yet they thought they were in love. Then they committed suicide. We love Leo. We don't want his life to end in tragedy.

But, some fans think Karai is Splinter's daughter Miwa. If that was the case...

2b If Karai was Splinter's daughter that would make her Leo's adopted sister. Not only that, but Karai has some of Splinter's DNA due to being his daughter. Leo also has some of Splinter's human DNA while being hit with the mutagen. Remember, Splinter's human DNA combined with Leo's turtle DNA. Then if this were the case, Leo and Karai would be blood related. Them being romantically together would not only be bestality, but also incest. (Sorry if I'm destroying Leo and Karai shippers dreams after this point).

These.next reasons.are more of my opinions now

3. In general, their personalities don't work well together. Pardon my language, but Karai is a bitch. And Leo happened to be cheesy enough at that moment to develop a crush on her on first sight. Did Leo happen to develop feelings for someone before he even met them? Uh yeah. I hope he realizes that there's more to someone than meets the eye. Love at first sight doesn't work like that usually. You have to get to know a person first. Which is something Leo failed at. What did Leo see in Karai upon first meeting her? Not her bitchy personality that's for sure. He probably likes the fact that she knows martial arts and is probably the second female his age he's ever met. Naturally he'd be attracted to her....but really???? Karai?! If Leo took the time to know Karai a bit better he'd notice their personalities don't work well together. He'll figure out that Karai is toying with him and then wonder "why did I even have a crush on her to begin with?" Karai is too crude and dark for Leo.

4. I don't want the Karai and Leo's relationship to get in the way of Leo's relationship with his brothers. I love the bonds Leo shares with his brothers, and would not be pleased if Karai got in the way of that. Leo's brothers come first. That goes for whatever other relationship Leo might have with anyone else. Leo should not have to choose between his brothers or Karai. His brothers should be his top priority over Karai any day. If Leo was with Karai all the time, he'd become farther away from his brothers. The 2012 version doesn't show a lot of the personal relationships Leo has with his brothers (except for his relationship with Raph).

This first two reasons were probably the strongest ones. Now, the in third reason I called Leo cheesy (I was this close to calling him an idiot too) but other than Leo's stupid crush on Karai, I love his character. In fact Leo is probably my favorite turtle. Bashing him kind of killed a part of me on the inside. I just think he and Karai weren't meant to be. If you like the Leo and Karai romantic pairing, then by all means support it. Don't let me ruin your beliefs. (While I probably did). But I'm fine with the idea of Leo and Karai being friends. There's no issues with that. Just add long as their friendship doesn't get in the way of Leo's relationship with his brothers. (See reason #4).

My opinions on other pairings:

Donnie/April- I have mixed feelings about this one. Reason #1 above applies to them, saying their relationship could be bestiality. I think their personalities work well together.  It's kind of weird seeing April as a teenager with Donnie and not as a full grown woman with Casey.  If the April and Donnie relationship is pulled off the right way, I'll be fine with it and even like it. Because April and Donnie do compliment each other well.

Turtles/OCs- ummmmm....this is vague since there's a lot of different Oc's. I find most of them cliche, annoying and in some cases bad. But there are some exceptions if an OC is done well. Which is really hard to do, since the turtles are well developed characters themselves.

Turtlecest -This is controversial. I could write paragraphs about my opinion on turtlecest. Truthfully, if done well....I'm fine with it. And sometimes even like it. Now turtlecest haters may find liking turtlecest disgusting.....but there is a way to pull off turtlecest in a way that makes sense. I find some people are very close minded to these sort of things. But they have a point. Eww...they're brothers. Them being in a romantic relationship is wrong. BUT in some cases turtlecest makes more sense than other pairings. After all, the four turtles are the only ones of their species in most cases. Who else are they going to mate with? Some teenage girl on the street?! (BESTIALITY). It also adds an interesting dynamic to the turtle's relationship. But if the turtlecest is going to be all about the sex, I want nothing to with it. They're bros, not whoes. Turtlecest can also make the turtles easily become ooc. Which also bugs me. (Unless they're in an AU...then maybe it'll work) Turtlecest only works if there's a good, interesting or sweet story behind it. It works best with good character development. This goes for any pairing really.

Venus de Milo/whoever- I don't like Venus. Hate her actually. She's annoying. She was placed in the series for the sake of having a female turtle.

Mona Lisa/Raph- all I know about Mona Lisa is she's a mutant lizard. (I think) I can't judge her. Can someone explain who she is? She was in the 80's version wasn't she? In that case, I must have missed her. I've seen a little bit of the tmnt 80's show, but didn't like it as much as the 2003 turtles. As a result I didn't watch it as much. In fact, I barely remember it.

I'm a sucker for the brotherly relationships the turtles share though. (The non-turtlecest way) They don't have fall in love. Maybe they weren't meant to....who knows? When in doubt, just focus on the brothers, and less about the turtles' love lives. Most of the tmnt fandom like the brotherly relationships the turtles have anyways. Because frankly, the brotherhood the turtles share is pretty strong on it's own. They can live their lives just fine without having to share their first kiss with anybody.

AND....that's my opinion.

1st, Leo and the other turtles are classified as human-turtle hybrids or humanoid turtles. Due to obtaining human DNA from Splinter, they became a hybrid species. Whether they can reproduce is unknown.

2nd, Karai or Miwa is neutral at best, she is Splinter's biological daughter who was raised by Shredder after he killed her mother and left Splinter for dead. But, due to being Splinter's daughter, that would make her Leo's older sister whether biological or adopted is up for interpretation. Still, I believe that Splinter would be against their relationship since they are both his children and it would be interpreted as incest which is illegal by both US and Japanese law despite what they show in anime and manga. In my fanfiction here on Deviantart and Wattapad, I will have Splinter and my oc character confront them on this.

And 3rd, another thing I against their union is that Karai is vengeful and has a bad habit of putting others in danger because of it. Leo once joined her in her fight to destroy Shredder's empire and almost got his brothers killed. Donnie was seriously injured from the blast, and Karai foolishly attacked Shredder's robot factory and was captured. Her thirst for vengeance blinds her to the safety of others and her own while Leo does his best to protect his family and friends. Despite Nickelodeon shipping them together, I don't see it working out. To be honest, I'm for the shipping between Leo and Liz Gordon from Suzukiwee1357. Their chemistry seems to work.
